Springtime Quilting during Pandemic 2021

It has been a full year since the virus has effected so many pats of my daily life. Shows cancelled, hopes for my entry in the annual Houston Festival dashed, QuiltCON in the ATL cancelled, most of my scheduled classes did not make minimum enrollment or outright cancelled by the guilds.

Yet, I have been able to continue quilting and even finally located a black Singer 301! I enjoy piecing on my vintage Featherweights and 301 machines.

I enjoy using interesting backgrounds for my collage quilts, this is based on a photo of the beloved dog of a friend. I modified a commercial pattern “popArt Pups” and hope to teach a class on the technique soon at a local shop. The stylized flowers in the Kaffe background remind me of spring, and hope for the future.
